Building cladding
The glazed lava stone from Pyrolave is an excellent choice for cladding bespoke buildings. It offers the inherent strength of a stone combined with all the surface qualities associated with enamels. Glazed lava is frost resistant & impervious to rain. All our vivid glazes are UV stable & will not rot or delaminate & are regarded as self cleaning during the climatic cycle. The lava can be used as an open jointed rain-screen system mechanically fixed, or as traditional jointed faience.
The blocks we extract at the quarry are typically rectangular, the majority yielding slab sizes up to approximately 1200 x 700mm. The most economical way of incorporating the product is to plan your scheme around these naturally occurring dimensions in the stone. Larger blocks are quite rare & cannot be considered for multiple quantities.
